Evaluations have to be requested by the child's home school district. To request this evaluation call your home school district and ask to speak with the Committee on Pre-School Special Education Chairperson. All evaluations conducted by Adirondack Enrichment will have a School Psychologist, and Speech-Language Pathologist. On request and Occupational and Physical Therapist will be made available.

Once a child has been tested and scores and recommendations have been reviewed with the family the evaluation team will complete a written report. This report will contain observations, test scores, and recommendations. If the child qualifies under the regulations set by NYS Education Department, goals and objectives will be included. The evaluation team will present this report at a scheduled date and time with the child's home school districts Pre-School Committee on Special Education.

CORE evaluations consist of a Speech Language Pathologist and either an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist. Evaluations are conducted in your home with a representative from the county you reside in present. If you feel your child is in need of an evaluation due to development concerns you can call you the Health Department in your county and request an evaluation. Once your child has been evaluated the evaluation team reports test scores and recommendation immediately at your home. You will have the opportunity to discuss this with the evaluators and the county representative and devise a family friendly plan to support the identified needs of your child.

A team of a Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist and if needed a Special Education Teacher will conduct the evaluation. As part of the evaluation, the Assistive Technology team will meet with available educational team members, observe the student in his/her educational setting if necessary, and perform direct evaluation of the students academic and/or communication needs. Direct evaluation will consist of hands on use by the student of equipment; devices or other materials that may help assess their technology needs.

Post the evaluation; a timely written report will be generated to include evaluation findings and recommendations based on all the information provided. Please note, additional visitation or consultation with the student and/or educational team can be scheduled if needed.
